Y5 are busy working on an exciting project to do with the play 'King Lear ' by William Shakespeare. They will be performing their work at the Royal Exchange in Manchester later this year which means they will not be able to perform the Passion Play in school next week as there is a lot of work involved in the Shakespeare project. Key Stage 2 pupils (Y3 -Y6 ) will be singing many of the songs from ' Hosanna ! ' next week in the Junior hall. The singing will be led by Y6 during a special 'one-off ' assembly. Parents, carers and friends from the community will not be able to attend on this occassion because of the Health and safety limits on hall capacity. | This Month's Value is... Respect!

Women And Men Who Made A Difference To Their World

19th Jan 2018

During the next few weeks our pupils will adopt 4 people ( two men and two women ) who have made a positive difference to the world they lived in , leaving an inspirational legacy behind them for others to take strength from. We have used the 12 men and women contained in Bob Hartman's book as our starting point to research , understand and then vote for in each of our team colours : Blue, Green , Red and Yellow.

Even if we adopt the complete 12 in the book across the school we still have to find out about 4 more ( 2 men and 2 women ) to add to our original selection . At the end of the process each team will have selected 4 people who have made a significant contribution to the wellbeing of their fellow human beings. These individuals will be a mixture of women or men from a variety of cultures if possible.

We may be able to create a display where children can go to find out more or simply admire and be inspired by their achievements.
