Mrs. Ogden- A Tribute

31st Mar 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a much loved and much respected former teacher Mrs. Anne Ogden ( aged 77 ).

Mrs. Ogden passed away peacefully last night ( Thursday 30th March ) at The Christie in Manchester with her loving husband, Andrew, by her side. Anne will be greatly missed by her daughter, Catherine.

Anne started teaching at Davyhulme Junior School in 1982 under the Headship of Mrs. Dodgson on a temporary supply basis and was soon a permanent and well-respected member of staff.

Anne was a pioneer in her quest to help save the planet and could often be seen riding to and from school every day during her teaching career at Davyhulme Junior School. To a lot of her countless former pupils, she was Davyhulme Junior School.

Anne was a modest, hard-working teacher who always did the best that she could for the children in her care and as a member of staff, she was always a great supporter of the school. Anne retired after 25 years in 2007. She continued to support the school and frequently returned to school after she retired to see and applaud the many performances produced by her colleagues and former colleagues.

She will be greatly missed.

From all the past pupils, past parents, and past colleagues-

Thank you Mrs. Ogden.
