Y5 are busy working on an exciting project to do with the play 'King Lear ' by William Shakespeare. They will be performing their work at the Royal Exchange in Manchester later this year which means they will not be able to perform the Passion Play in school next week as there is a lot of work involved in the Shakespeare project. Key Stage 2 pupils (Y3 -Y6 ) will be singing many of the songs from ' Hosanna ! ' next week in the Junior hall. The singing will be led by Y6 during a special 'one-off ' assembly. Parents, carers and friends from the community will not be able to attend on this occassion because of the Health and safety limits on hall capacity. | This Month's Value is... Respect!

World Book Day!

3rd Mar 2022

Wow, what a day!

World Book Day is always a special day at Davyhulme Primary School,(we LOVE anything that involves books and reading) but today felt extra special as we started to get back to 'normal' and bring back some of our old Book Day routines.

The children looked fantastic today and it was great to see such a wide variety of characters from a vast array of books and genres!

Today, the children across the school have taken part in a variety of different book-themed events in their classes; visited a fantastic book fair; and... formed reading buddies across the school- this was the best part! Children in Year 6 were reading to Year 2 pupils, children in Year 3 visited Nursery and Reception, and Year 4 and 5 covered the Year 1 children.

Staff also decided on a class 'winner' based on a wide variety of different factors. You can see the winners in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 below!

Well done to everybody who took part in today's event and remember... Keep On Reading!!
